unable to find the requested server??? only on Blackberry bold

My Bold 9000 screen shows "unable to find the requested server" 70% of the time when trying to load any particular internet webpage. WiFi is strong and connected. Doesn't matter which website it is. Very sporadic. Will load one minute,  then when requesting a moment later will show above display. Very unreliable to a point of being useless. Have tried everything online and no resolution. Please help!  Thank you.

Strange, over 70 views but no one seems to have an answer to this major problem and deficiency with Blackberrys.

This same message drove me nuts for a week, some sites worked, others did not. I found that when trying to go to m.google.com I had to delete the http://www in order for it to work!

Not knowing what "everything" is, hopefully this advice is not redundant...the lack of replies may be due to others interpreting that you truly had tried "everything", making any advice they could give redundant.

 

I suggest the following steps:

1) Register HRT


  • Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > blackberry_logo.jpg (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now


2) Resend Service Books


  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service


3) Batt Pull Reboot


  • Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Hopefully that will get things going again for you!

thanks for responding! however, everything does include what you have suggested, and none of it resolves the problem. and again, please note that I am connecting by Wifi and not BlackBerry Internet Service. and as the previous entry found, my BB will connect perfectly one moment and then not the next. I cannot find any common thread as it's non website or application specific and extremely sporadic to being not useable.

You are truly "elite" if you can find a solution to this Major problem. I cannot use the BB efficiently until this issue is resolved.

 

P.S. there is no service book if there is no data plan.

...and then I get a message: "Registration message queued. It will be sent once data coverage is available"

 

What is the next step?

Well, if you never receive the message on your BB, it would be to see your carrier for formal support.

I have a 9700 and came up against the same problem.  My wifi was working fine for months at home...but then went to a coffee shop, used the free wifi, came back home and it wouldn't work!  Solved the problem by going to:

Manage Connections - Wifi Options - Restore Default Settings.

Hi I am very pleased to have seen this comment, I have been searching for an answer for my Blackberry on several different sites and this is the first answer i have came across, although it never worked for my BB it might for others. From a very pleased reader.
