8310: Question about MicroSD card size

Hi All,

I just bought a 8310 blackberry which has 4.2.2 OS. I wanted to know what memory size Microsd card would it support. Can I use 4GB card? If so then would it slow down the OS?

I tried searching in the manuals and tips but found no information pertaining to the Card size.

Thank you!

Re: 8310: Question about MicroSD card size

BlackBerry OS 4.2 support 4GB microSD memory. There is no issue of slowness as it's officially communicated.

Re: 8310: Question about MicroSD card size

If you want to spend $80......I have found 16 gig SD cards on line.  I see one of them in my future.

Re: 8310: Question about MicroSD card size

I too am looking at purchasing a microSD card.  You talk about the version of the OS.  How do I check what version I have running on my BB8310?  What is the maximum size card it will recognize?  Is it dependent on the OS?  Thanks for the help!

Re: 8310: Question about MicroSD card size

To check the runnng OS version on your device go to options -> about -> you'll see somethng like Wireless Handheld (EDGE)  v4.2.1.93 (platform 2.3.0.77)

Max. Media Support depends on the version of device software you're using. Check the following Info -

BlackBerry Device Software                         Media Card Size Limit

BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.0                         Up to 2GB

BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1                         Up to 4GB

BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2                         Up to 4GB

BlackBerry Device Software 4.3.0                         Up to 8GB
