I have the exact same problem and the only way I have been able to remove the black box is by removing the battery. I had quite a few pictures in my camera but thinking it may be a memory issue, I removed them. When I tried to take a picture it happened again. So I am wondering if it is a problem with the camera.
Thinking back, this problem seemed to start after I set up and used desktop manager software. Have you done the same?
