I just activated a new mobile service with Suncom (Soon to become T-Mobile) down here in the Carolinas.
Bought a BB8310.
I'm looking at a SanDisk micro SD HC with 8GB, (SDSDQ-8192). Will this work in my 8310??
I was told by the Suncom sales that this phone could do video if I obtained software from BB. Is this correct??
Can this phone do WiFi??
I'm trying to access certain music (www.SoloPianoRadio.com) services on the internet. I click on their link for MP3 and BB's media player comes up, but, angst! nothing happens.

For max media support check the below -
BlackBerry Device Software Media Card Size Limit
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.0 Up to 2 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1 Up to 4 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2 Up to 4 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.3.0 Up to 8 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.5.0 Up to 8 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.6.0 Up to 16 GB
Yes its true that you can have video record if your upgrade your device OS to 4.5 once it's been accepted by your carrier.
8310 supports GPS not WiFi. WiFi is supported on BlackBerry Curve 8320.

Hi All, My question on video is related to taking movies with my camera. I can take snap shots but I also want to take motion pictures too. So if I understand the response from tanzim,, I could update my phone to OS4.5 and use my camera for making movies instead of just snap shots but my phone might not work anymore with my carrier, is that correct? I need to call my carrier to see what OS they can accept.
My BB is 4.2.2.181 (Platform 2.5.0.35) so that tells me I cannot use more than a 4GB micro card, unless I find out my carrier can accept a newer version, is that correct??
So version is the hang up for both issues, video camera and larger microcard??
Sorry that I need it spelled out!

That's exactly right, 4.5 is needed for video capabilities on the 8310.
The OS 4.5 has been released to the vendors so they can test and have a supported copy. This way you can expect them to speak to any 4,5 related issues. I would wait and upgrade you vendors copy. Check the website for you carrier under Blackberry software.
If you want to buy an 8gb card in anticipation of the new release rather than buying two, you can put the 8gb in the device, but I will only recognize 4gb.
Make sense?
If you need more ino, please ask. If not please resolve the post via the options by the Kudo's star.
Thanks you very much!

If you have OS 4.5 on your device you can use 8gb microsdhc.
I have OS 4.3 in my curve and an 8gb microsdhc Sandisk, works great!
