8350 max memory

Does anyone know what the maximum media memory that the 8350 curve is capable of?  I'm talking about the micro sd card that you can add to it.  It came with a 1gb card, which is next to nothing in songs and video.  I would like to install a 16gb card but what to confirm it will work first.  Please help

Re: 8350 max memory

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

Device model has nothing directly to do with the size of Media Card you can use. Rather, it is a function of the device OS level that you are running. See this KB:

  • KB05461 MicroSD media card sizes supported by BlackBerry Device Software versions

Hope that helps!

Re: 8350 max memory

That helps a lot!  I looked all over the bb website for that kind of info.  How do I confirm my sw version?  Menu-options-about- brings up "Blackberry 8350i smartphone (iDen, Wi-Fi) v4.6.1.204...  If I'm right, mine is capable of 32gb.  Sound right??

Re: 8350 max memory

Hmmm...it's hard to be certain, I've never had a 4.6 device nor your particular model...mine shows, on the third line of the Options > About screen, this:

  • v4.7.0.148 (Platform 4.0.0.181)

which means, for me, that I am on the 4.7 OS level, release .148 (the current VZW version for my Storm). I'm not sure if that correlates to your BB, but maybe this article will be helpful:

  • KB04195 BlackBerry Device Software versions, wireless networks, and frequencies that each BlackBerry smartphone model supports

Good luck!

Re: 8350 max memory

I was able to get an 8gig card to work on my 8350i, a 16gig would not work.

I switched to a Tour so I don't remember what OS version i had exactly.

If you have any other questions about the 8350i feel free to ask, i ran that phone for 10 months. loved it, jsut the data was too slow as it is nextel not Sprint.
