i have a blackberry curve 8520 and i am unable to download anything from the internet, it just fails. i have changed my sim card and still doesnt work so please someone help

I don't think Changing Sim can do anything in this matter.First make sure at you got  Blackberry Specific Data

Plan from your Carrier Vodacom . On right side of your Device's Homescreen before signal bars is it written 

edge ? EDGE ? or GSM.

1. What, and how large is the file, you are attempting to download?
2. Are you connected to WiFi and using the WiFi hotspot browser?
3. Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?

I'm unable to download any size files mp3, documents etc...EDGE is in capital and I have BIS....I went to vodacom they said sim was to old so they changed it and that would solve the problem but it hasn't...I give up now
