9360 Software Update

Hello

 

I am trying to update the software on my 9360 Curve as prompted to do so. If I try to do this from the phone, it says Wireless not available and won't continue. I am now trying to do it over the web from my PC, and have run the application it askes me to download. However, it has now been stuck on a screen and does not ask to connect phone. all it says is "Select a device to connect" but does not give the option to choose my device, and the other screen says "Checking for Blackberry Device Software Updates", but has been doing that for a long time now. 

 

What am I doing wrong?

  • Disconnect from your PC.
  • Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
  • Now, you can try the on-device wireless update (turn on your WiFi connection)
  • or go back to the PC and try again by starting the BlackBerry Desktop Software.

I am rebooting now and will try again via the PC. 

 

there are no Wireless Networks available where I am, so I can't use this option.

Ok, then you won't be able to use that option.

 

Your PC does have an internet connection, right?

yes it does have internet connection

 

must I have the Blackberry Desktop Software installed?

used a different PC now, and connected via BB desktop software, however, it now says no Updates available? yet on my phone, it says I need to update.
