I just purchased a Blackberry Curve 8330. I downloaded some ringtones from Phonezoo and can't seem to be able to activate them.
When I look at the phone from either the desktop or through the phone I see them in Media Card/Blackberry/Ringtones, and also in Device Memory/home/user/ringtones.
However, when I go to Media/Ring tones they don't appear there, nor can I see them when I try to assign a ring tone from one of the various other areas they can be assigned.
Any idea what my problem is? Is it possible that the ringtones I downloaded from Phonezoo aren't compatible with a BB? The extension on the file is ".gcd".

Hi and welcome to the forums!
When you go the media ringtones do you have My ringtones, and then all ringtones?
Look in my ringtones.

When I go to Ring Tones, I have "All Ring Tones", "My Ring Tones" and "Preloaded Ring Tones".
If I click on "All" it shows all of the default ones that start with "Alarm_Antelope".
If I click on "My" there are no ring tones.
If I click on "Preloaded" it shows the same ring tones that are in "All".

The problem is probably caused by having them in two different places. Remove them from the media card and save on PC.
Pull the battery while the device is ON, replace after a minute, Let the device reboot 1-3 min,
See if the ringtones in the device memory show up, and can be used. If they are there, move them one by one to the media card.
Let me know!

I did as you suggested, and I see the ringtone on the media card and not in memory - I moved it from memory to the media card.
But they don't appear under Ringtones in Media or let me assign them

To assign a ringtone from a downloaded file, try the following:
Go to profiles
> click trackball
> scroll to advanced > click
> highlight the profile you want to edit
> menu key (left of trackball) > edit
> scroll to phone > Click trackball
> scroll to ringtone and click
> scroll up to browse and click
> from there you can navigate to where you rintones are stored. It automatically went to my media card. Let us know if this works.
