Hi
My bb downloaded an “update” for 4.5.0.175. Then it’s automatically installed. I didn't check any option during the process.. Then all the information of my device, address book, memos.... including e-mail account information.. were DELETED. (How come?)![]()
Now I am trying to recover it… but… One thing weird is I still can receive emails from my account (to the “messages”), but I cannot see the application for email and ,of course, cannot set the notification tone( the email notification option in profile is also disappeared) . It’s problematic since I cannot hear anything if I got an e-mail. And.. still….e-mail setting application doesn’t work. I cannot log on via “existing users” (username and password doesn't match..but I tried all the possibles.) and cannot make a new account since it says “I am a existing user”
Is there any way to reset the email account?
Thanks,

Upgrades like that don't automatically install, you must select to begin it and proceed with it.
During the upgrade, the process would have created a backup of your device. Look at your computer in the My Documents folder for the most recently LoaderBackup file, ending in .ipd
Do you see it? You can restore data from there, using Desktop Manager > Backup/Restore > Advanced.
For the lost applications,
1. On your homescreen, press the Menu key > SHOW ALL, so that SHOW ALL is checked.
2. Look in EACH folder on your device... Applications, Instant Messengers, Downloads, et
If you still don't see it, look at Options > Advanced > Applications. Do you see it listed there?

Hi Thanks for the reply.
I installed the upgrade directly from my bb device...so i didn't connect it to my computer and don't have any back-up files.
(Do you mean if I do the upgrade in my device, the back-up also can happen somewhere in my device?)
Yes..I let it proceed... like putting the "upgrade" button, but didn't care about it after that... When I check it a few hours later, all things are completely gone.
And I tried "show All", and check "Option"...but there's no application for my email.
But.. thanks for the help ![]()

I do the update again, then,,,the email application appears.
Maybe it wasn't completed...;;;
The address book and other informations are still gone, but...that's ok.
Thanks...
