All unknown numbers go directly to voicemail.

My wife and I both have sprint 8330's, hers has begun sending all unknown numbers directly to voicemail, with no notification that there was ever a call, unless they leave a message. On top of this, some contacts in her address book, including mine, are now coming up as unknown numbers and are getting the same treatment.

When you call, it may ring once or twice on your end, or not at all before going to voicemail, but her phone never makes a sound.

I already checked the "do not disturb" option(it's off)  and the content protection (also off).

As she uses this phone for business, this is a big problem. We'd really appreciate any help.

Re: All unknown numbers go directly to voicemail.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

Anytime random strange behaviors creep in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Best!

We tried that earlier, but apparently didn't leave the battery out long enough, as it seems to be working so far. Thanks a bunch!

Re: All unknown numbers go directly to voicemail.

I am having the exact same problem. It willl happen even to people who are in my account! I've been doing the hard resets (removing battery while phone is powered on) for months and it's not solving anything. What's worse is if those people are not leaving messages, I have no way to know who calls. There is not a time of the day nor a location where it happens more.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

Please check your carriers website to see if you are on their most recent version of the device OS for your BB:

If you are not, then you would be advised to update. Failing that, you would be advised to talk to your carrier for formal support.

Good luck and let us know!
