installing desktop software does not reinstall software to your device. you shouldnt have even needed to have your device plugged in to install desktop software. you would have to install desktop maanger, plug your device in, install device software to windows, open desktop manager, use either the update option, or application loader option to install the device software to your BB.
and during this installation it went bad. and previous poster was correct... you need to reinstall
goto control panel- add/remove progs
check for bbdesktop manager 4.7 and see if there is any other bb program installed... this will be your device software... im hoping its 4.5.x.x
dont uninstall anything here, just for informational purposes, close add/remove progs and control panel
open my computer and go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
open the program loader.exe
remove your battery.. and run the wizard, till its complete
you will get a multistage error, close wizard
put battery in and wait till it boots to a 507 error
run loader.exe again

Thanks for your support, i try to follow yor instructiones with this results:
1. I just have 1 BBDesktop Manager (4.7) and a BB Media Sync.
2. I open my computer and go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
2.1 open the program loader.exe
2.2 remove my battery
2.3 and run the wizard, till its complete
2.4 i get a multistage error, close wizard
2.5 put battery in and wait till it boots to a 507 error. THE APPL ERROR 523 REMAINS.
2.6 run loader.exe again
2.7 the wizard was completed succefusly but, my device have a blank screen
2.8 after i pressing the trackball the device answers with "App Error 523" AGAIN.
So, I need just install again? or erase the previous installation and install as new?
How can i reset my 8310 device?

How i Solved:
1. I open my computer and go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
2. open the program loader.exe
3. remove my battery
4. run the wizard (erase the "surreal theme" and don't backup), till its complete
5. close wizard
6 run loader.exe again

I did this way: Keep pressed the BACK/RETURN key while switching on the phone for getting into "SAFE MODE". Than I connected the phone to my PC using Desktop Manager and uninstall the APP which was giving trouble. Problem of error 523 solved.
