BB 9380 Error 102

Hi, I got a 102 error on my blackberry 9380. I went to reload the software, but i can't find the software on the site. So i don't know where to download the software.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Just to be sure, here is the KB that discusses that error:

  • KB10068 "JVM 102" error is displayed on the BlackBerry smartphone

As for the software, it depends on which you need. IMHO, you actually need two pieces of software. The Desktop Software, which you obtain here:

And your BB OS package, which you obtain here:

You install both of those to your PC (in that order, btw...the Desktop Software first, then the BB OS package), and then you should be able to carry out the required steps.

 

If you are on MAC, it's different...you only install that Desktop Software (also available via the link above), but the BB OS packages only work on PC...the MAC software should, however, access your carriers packages and obtain what you require.

Okay well, I am trying to reload the software on the phone so

1) downloading device software (7.0)
2) install it on the pc
3) use the BB desktop manager to download the software
4) install and reboot.

The problem is at (1). I have a BB 9380, for Aruba (latin america region) for SETAR. 
I can't find this. So if there is no way to download the software, can I hard reset it in a way?

Instead of your step 3, use the link I provided above to download to your PC the required BB OS package. Then install that to your PC. Then run the Desktop Software.

 

You can use any carriers OS package, as long as it's for your exact same model number BB. If that OS package is from a carrier other than the carrier for which your BB was originally manufactured, then delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
  • C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
