Hi good morning. Ya I have done email set up thru this.. Now I got email from bis that to sync your calander and contacts..pl veryfy thru your email setup which may be called security check..but now when I got to set up and ty to access email nothing happens...for sync u have to access theu your email set from device..if have have any other way pl let me know...

                                    Morning ! You have to verify the email account that you used , which email account you used Gmail, Yahoo ? are you unable to access that email account from your desktop PC !

hi
i know u have to veryfy.. but i get email from bis to verify on the my phone. goto setting and setup email from there.. thats the thing i cant access from my phone.. when i press that nothing happens.. i dont know how t veryfy that account from desktop..i am sure u ahve to veryfy from the phone for security.....i believe..is there is another way pl let me know.. thanx.

Hello,

 

Please let me recap what I thing is going on here...please validate and/or correct this...

  1. You have your email configured to your BB, and all email is sending/receiving just fine.
  2. You configured this email to your BB via a PC/browser to your carriers BIS website.
  3. You want also to have your contacts and/or calendar synchronizing from this email account server, but cannot access the on-device email setup wizard to do so.

Is all of that correct? If so, please first conduct the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):

1) Register HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
  • Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app

2) Delete and Resend Service Books

  • KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
  • If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
  • You may or may not be able to use the on-device email setup wizard to resend the SBs...if so, please do so via your carriers BIS website from a PC/browser
  • Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

3) Batt Pull Reboot

  • Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.


Now, to configure calendar/contact sync, you can also do this via the carrier BIS website from a PC/browser...but, of course, only for compatible email servers...please confirm the email server you are using, as it may even not be possible if you are not using one that is compatible.
