Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
If your carrier does not support BBs, there is nothing you can do as far as using any of the enhanced BB services. ALL of your services, including BB-specific services, are delivered by the carrier (not, as they seem to have said to you, by RIM)...if they don't have such services to deliver, then there is nothing to be done. See this FAQ:
You will be limited to the services in the middle tier -- a generic data plan. Anything in the last tier (BB Specific) will not be available to you.
As for MMS...that is not a BB service at all. As such, your carrier can either deliver that service to you or they cannot...there is nothing about the BB itself nor the BB services that has anything at all to do with MMS.
Lastly, if your BB is GPRS only and the network of the carrier is not GPRS, then you are pretty much in possession of a paperweight. You need to research the radio frequency capabilities of your specific BB against those frequencies that your carrier uses -- if they do not match, then there is nothing to be done.
