BBM is slow to send and receive messages

I had a blackberry 9320 which worked perfectly. Than after a few weeks the speaker broke. I returned it to the shop who replaced with a new 9320. The new one has been slow to send and receive messages on bbm since I got it. And there is a tendecy for replies to come in all at once. I've been able to observe the speed in person using a mates phone and it could take up to 15 minutes for a message to send to me.

Re: BBM is slow to send and receive messages

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!

I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):

1) Register HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
  • Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app

2) Resend Service Books

  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
  • Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

3) Batt Pull Reboot

  • With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should again contact your mobile service provider for formal support.

Good luck!

Re: BBM is slow to send and receive messages

Thanks I've tried those steps but my BBM is still slow. I've already contacted my provider who asked me to test if my browser was working, which it was, and sent me here. They said they don't do support for BBM that it was issue for you.

Re: BBM is slow to send and receive messages

Who is the issue for? Me? You do realize, don't you, that this site is not a channel for any support from BlackBerry. Rather, we are users, just like you, who happen to try and help out others.

If your provider says it's a BlackBerry issue, then they need to follow the proper support protocol -- which is not to fob you off (which, sorry, they did). Rather, they should escalate your case to BlackBerry at no charge to you...that is how the support model works. Sadly, whoever you spoke to there was (I'll be gentle) not well trained.

I suggest you try again, but this time insist that they live up to their support responsibilities, and escalate your case rather than fob you off.

Good luck!

Re: BBM is slow to send and receive messages

Oh wow that guy was really poorly trained then. I thought there would be official blackberry support here. The person from my provider said it's an issue for blackberry and told me to contact them through the forums on the support site, here. Thanks I'll return and hopefully meet someone who has a clue.

Re: BBM is slow to send and receive messages

Yup...that guy was totally not trained, for everything he told you sounds to be incorrect. I'd not actually trust even his diagnosis then. Find someone there who has a clue about how BBs and the support model works.

Good luck!
