BBM or Email? how do I get rid of it?

I constantly am getting this message on my phone from "Gejite". I went to Koodo because I get the messages like 6 times a day and the girl said some of them are BBMs and some of them are almost like emails but they dont show up in my 2 emails that I have set up on the phone.

She had sent a message to them via BBM stating "stop" which usually works but obviously didn't. She doesnt know how to get them to stop because they just come up as like notifications on my phone. I'm wondering if this is like a virus or something? It doesn't affect anything its just annoying that I get so many a day.

She rebooted or reset my phone and about 5 minutes later I got another one of their messages. They always say its from "Gejite" and its either "news update" or "headline news".

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: BBM or Email? how do I get rid of it?

It's not a virus, there is no known virus for a BlackBerry.

It's probably a PIN message, maybe? Do the messages appear in RED?

Or some other messaging application on your BlackBerry, or do the messages appear in your MAIN messages folder? What does the message notification look like?

You can turn on your Firewall to block messages from people NOT in your Address Book.

Re: BBM or Email? how do I get rid of it?

I have been getting these messages as well for the past couple of months. My service provider is with Bell and I have addressed the issue but they said they have not heard of anything like this.

This is becoming quite annoying receiving these messages on a daily basis so if there is a fix please share.

Thx,

Those, in red, are PIN messages.

You can block them through your Options > Firewall. Select the PIN messages only, and only those coming from people who are NOT in your Address Book.

This will not affect your email, etc., just don't select the email firewall.
