BBM server error

Hello,

 

I just got my blackcerry for Christmas and I am new to this.

 

My BBM has not been working since Friday (it's now Sunday). I couldn't send a BBM, and no one could send them to me. They would get a red X next tot he message.

 

I downloaded the latest update yesterday.

 

Now, my BBM is giving me an error that says:

 

"Cannot set uo BBM-A temporary BBM server has occured" and it has a retry button underneath.

 

I've tried taking the battery out and re-booting my phone, but that isn't working.

 

Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have any advice?

Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?

You must, in order to get the RIM push email functions you are looking for, as well as additional BlackBerry data services such as the internet browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger, and much more.

So, call your carrier and inquire about having the BlackBerry Data Plan added to your account.
