Re: BBM still not working

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

There is an ongoing major outage...formal information is available here:

From my experience, this continues to affecting BIS, BES, and all services that depend on those (BBM, email, AppWorld, web browsing, application access to internet data, etc.). Troubleshooting specific problems during this outage may be pointless.

Once the outage clears, if things are not yet flowing for you, please try these steps:

1) Register HRT

  • Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > blackberry_logo.jpg (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now

2) Resend Service Books

  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service

3) Batt Pull Reboot

  • Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Hopefully that will get things going again for you!

Cheers!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

I have no indications of any wide-spread outages...the status page linked above continues to say that things are back to normal worldwide.

You say that your provider "checked" all that I said and "found no problems"...but did they actual "do" what I said? Or did they just "check" some things? Also, since they are your provider, they are 100% responsible for all of your services and support...it is unfortunate that they fobbed you off so easily...after all, you pay them for these services and they are not delivering them to you...I'd suggest you go back to them and not let them fob you off again.

Good luck!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

You have to check with your local mobile service providers. RIM provides no services directly...only through the local mobile carriers. A list of various carriers (by region) is here:

Good luck!
