Backing uo your data?

I checked for updates on my smartphone and it downloaded the 7.1 software.

 

I received a warning that if I chose to install the software i would not be able to use my device for 2hrs. its been over 24 hours and its been stuck on 9% on "backing up my data".

 

I cant survive wioth out my smartphone. if this problem persists I'm screwed.

Have you since been able to perform the software update?  The backup should indicate which database it's hanging on.  Can you tell me which database that is?

I don't know anything about a database sadly. All I know is that I'm still haven't been able to download. I tried online but the downloader just never works. My device is super slow now I can even finish 1.5mb download.

During the backup process, it will show which database is being accessed at the time. It should stop on one while when it "hangs".

I downloaded the software from my mobile. And it froze. It didn't have details except that its Version 7.1.0 bundle 1133. But I'm still using. Version 7.0.0 bundle 2259. How do I uprgade to the latest version without my device freezing again?

I finally found a sollution. Before downloadng the software. Use USB cable to connect your phone to Blackberry Desktop software, allow it to connect. *remember that this should be in safemode* Select Device>Delete data>selected data>social feeds & smartcard data. Once this is done proceed with your upgrade web based on "over-the-air" upgrade. Hope this works for everyone as it did for me!
