I updated my OS to 4.6.1.133 and it seemed to fix my backup problem...the first time at least. 

When I tried to backup today, it gave me the "Error backing up databases" and I was not happy.

Then I found another tip that worked:

1. Open DM
2. Click backup/restore
3. click advanced 
4. clear browser messages and browser data cache
5. backup

I don't know why this works, but it does.

i have the same backup problem with my new 8900 it used to backup well but now it stops when backing up wordtogo i tried reinstalling the DM and downloaded the latest version but still no chance to back up i tried to update my device OS (i have V4.6.1.101) but it also fails towards the end saying "fatal error occurred" no more details. i checked for registry solution and found that i do not seem to have a blackberry folder under the Hkey current user / software in my registry. could that be the problem and how to solve it? i already tried reinstalling the DM 4.7 several times but no use!! appreciate any help. thank you in advance.
