Battery not charging while talking?

I was on the phone last night and the battery was beeping to indicate it was low. I plugged it in and nothing happened. I have tried it today as well, but apparently the battery cannot charge while the phone is in use.

 

That is simply irritating. Is it my phone or the BB8330?

Honestly, the phone application uses some of the greatest power on the device, and it is likely a negative effect of charging while talking on the phone.
