BlackBerry Curve 8520 Problem

I have problem with my BlackBeryy Curve 8520. When I inserted the sim card, it reads it, but when I try to make calls it allows me only emergency calls. I tried to select another network, but it doesn't allow me to change it or to select a network at all. The message that appear is that network selection failed. If someone can help me, I will be very gratefull.

Thank you.

Re: BlackBerry Curve 8520 Problem

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

There could be several different causes for this....let's start with the basic one. Have you checked, with your mobile service provider, to be 100% certain that the specific radio technologies and frequencies that they operate are supported with your specific BB device? No device supports all frequencies in the world, so you must have a device that is compatible with your carriers specific network.

Secondly, how/when/from whom did you obtain this device? Has it ever worked before? Is this a new problem? What changed just before the problem started?

Thanks and let us know!
