BlackBerry Curve 8520 doesn't register

[ Edited ]

I bought this BlackBerry Curve 8520 at ebay and it doesn't register to t-mobile.

I tried everything... wipe, factory reset, new firmware, hrt message sent... nothing worked.

This device seems to be already connected to an old BIS account, but i don't know where.

Can BlackBerry delete this account?

Kind regards,

Sven Kluehsendorf

Re: BlackBerry Curve 8520 doesn't register

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

It is possible that your suspicion is correct...one BB can be registered to only one BIS system anywhere in the world at any one time. If it is indeed so, then you won't be able to get it to function on any other carrier.

But, no one here can actually look into the matter for you...refer:

Hopefully, this information will be of use to you.

You need to contact TMO and see if they will be willing to dig deeper to resolve this for you. Do though be aware that, if the device has been reported as lost or stolen, then it won't be usable on any carrier BIS system, and there's likely nothing you can do about that report. If the eBay seller represented it as being able to be fully used on any compatible carriers network, then perhaps they misrepresented it...which then would dictate your proper course of action.

Cheers, and Good Luck!
