Hello everyone, I'm new at the forum as well at the blackberry world.
Two days ago I bought the curve 9300 and it worked flawlessly until night.
I don't have any BIS data package, just regular 3G and WiFi at home.
Last night I went to the app world to update some apps such as facebook, twitter, BBM ( not really sure what's
This app about) ...nothing wrong so far...after I updated the apps it asked me to reboot the device, so I did.
I have to mention that I updated them using the WiFi connection.
After the reboot, I wasn't able to connect anymore.
My device came with OS 6 out of the box, so I thought if I downgraded it to the previous version I could get it to work.
I was wrong. Not only the connections still don't work, plus I can't update the OS to the version 6.
Did a hard reset to see if it helps, still nothing...it doesn't even scan my WiFi router.
I'm getting frustrated...
Someone could help me?
Thnaks in advance

Without the blackberry data plan, none of those apps will work. Even while connected to WiFi, you still need the blackberry data plan. Call your carrier and verify this.
Here is some more info about using appworld over WiFi only:

But I was using the 3G normally as I did always when I had an android device...
And the apps I updated using the wifi...so I think it has nothing to do with the carrier, don't you think?
If it has something to do with the carrier I think I wouldn't be able to use the 3G and the wifi from the
start.

and how can I update it back to OS 6?

That's correct. The Android device doesn't require the same data plan as the blackberry. You can use App world with a WiFi only connection, see the note section in the link I posted above. You still have the 3g and WiFi connectivity with no problem, but if you don't have the correct blackberry data plan attached to your account, you can't use apps that utilize a 3g / WiFi connection. Give the carrier a quick call, they will verify this.

To install os6, use this guide:

Yes I understand that. You will have to call the carrier to find out what is going on. They provide the network services needed in order to use those apps. it doesn't make sense to me either, but only the carrier can fix it. I will ask my friends to chime in, but I'm thinking you will have to contact the carrier. You can try doing a battery pull, but I don't think it will make a difference.

Pulled it several times already, even rebooted it in safe mode to see if I could get any luck...
Nothing work...
The most frustrating part that it was fine...worked and everyting...now it just makes calls and sends SMS...
and all because I updated those stupid apps...
Thanks again...if you have any news about it...please let me know

No problem. I've asked them to look at this thread. In the meantime you can check with the carrier to verify everything is setup ok with your services / data plan.
