Approximately 10 months ago I upgraded from a BlackBerry 8520 to a BlackBerry 9320.
Unfortunately, I have had numerous problems with the 9320, so much so that I have
received four replacements to date.
Today, I again returned my 9320 to Vodafone for "repair" or replacement.
Luckily, I have retained my BlackBerry 8520.
Luckily, I backup my 9320 on a regular basis.
I now wish to download data from my 9320 backup to my 8520.
Is this possible?

If you have a backup of your previous device then can restore it on your 8520 , You can refer to this Knowledge Base for help :
KB03953 :How to back up and restore data to a new BlackBerry smartphone
Most easiest way to transfer data is the switch device wizard using desktop software , but as you don't have your previous device so follow the above KB .

Many thanks for response.
However, I am attempting to transfer a backup from a 9320 to a 8520.
When I go to the backup of my 9320, I am not permitted to access the file, as I am connecting a 8520.
I trust this explains my particular problem.

Hi there ,
You don't need to open that backup file ! Which version of Desktop Software you're having .
Or try this While your Curve 8520 connect Open Desktop Software > Select Device > Select Restore > On that Screen are you able to view any Backup files ?
If you're then try a Selective restore , Choose Select device data and setting > From within those backup data you can restore your Address Book , memos , Calender entries etc .
