I can't speak for what their page says, but the RIM/Blackberry woman I dealt with told me to make sure NOT to remove my battery the next time this happens and to call them so they can diagnose which database is causing the issue.
Erasing the cache memory by resetting your phone does clear out some stuff but the real problem is the corrupt database.
To accurately figure out which database is corrupted, they need the phone to be exactly the way it was when the problem was noticed.
She assured me that despite what AT&T is claming, it is NOT an actual memory issue. The corrupt database is causing the phone to THINK it is running out of memory, which causes he log/message dump and periodic rebooting.
The only part of that info I would change is to call your provider and demand they open a ticket with Blackberry regarding the problem.
Once you have a Trouble Ticket # for RIM, then you can call that 1-877-255-2377, select option 1, then enter in the seven digit trouble ticket number and it will take you directly to a RIM Tech.

if you feel comfortable doing it, follow these instructions:
Set your memory settings to what they suggest and that should take care of the issue. (as long as you have a mini sandisk card inserted)
1. To set the picture settings to use 0 of the phone's memory, open up your Media (looks like computer screen) then choose pictures
When it opens to the screen where you see "My Pictures" and Preloaded Pictures" click on the MENU button (between the green call button and the trac ball)
When that pops up, select OPTIONS
Click on the Device memory Limit and set it to 12MB
Then scroll down to Reserved Pictures Memory and change that to 0MB
That will direct your phone to stop reserving space on the phone for pictures since it should already be defaulting to the memory card
I followed those instructions and havent had any problems since then.
