I would like to know if it is possible to stop the recent updates on bbm(you know when it tells you peoples status or if they changed display picture)?

Welcome to BlackBerry Support Forums

Well every BBM user want this feature enabled and you don't

On your Device Homescreen Open BBM > Press the Menu Key > Options > On that screen  there is an options under Header Recent Updates , there set Show Recent Updates to None and Uncheck all within that section then save it . See if that helps.

Is it possible to disable a specific contacts status updates. Basically some who uses bbm has a diary and I never want to see that persons status updates like when iam chatting to that person?

Welcome to BlackBerry Support Forums

If you don't want to see updates from your contacts you can use the above setting but it will stop for all Contacts , those updates depends on each individual BBM setting ,if you allow permission to certain applications to connect with BBM then it will show those updates.You cannot stop other contacts to reflect those updates unless you stops those or if the other user deny access to those updates or the application that are connected to BBM.
