Hello all, I was wondering if any of you had insight into whether Act! 6.0 is synching with the Curve. I previously had the Palm Treo 700P which is a piece of garbage and was lucky it worked at all. My company is upgrading to Blackberry and abandoning Palm, I see here on your product sheet that Act! 6.0 is supported but has anyone had any experience using this Blackberry with Act! as I always had alot of issues with synching Act! with any PDA and wanted to hear others experiences before settling on this model. I also read that Companionlink may be needed, however it doesn't bother me when nothing prevoiusly available would successfully synch my Palm with Act! without issues......
Thanks for the help......

I believe that the Blackberry syncs with Outlook just fine. I don't know whether software for synching with Outlook comes pre-packaged or whether you have to purchase it separately. However, once you get the data into Outlook, the data can be synched with 99% of devices out there.
Now, from what I've seen, Verizon doesn't know much about the devices they sell. They would prefer to sell you their software than provide you with a free package to sync with Outlook. The question is then: "Does the Blackberry Curve come with sync software to Outlook?". I'd just purchase one, test it, and if it does not work, just return it to the store.

Hello. I recently have switched from the Treo 650 to the BB8830 and also used Act 6.0. I did sync the Treo to ACT using the ACT Link provided on the software disk. With the BB8830,..you really should sync with Outlook. To sync Outlook with ACT, you do not need any additional software. This is a manual process.
Goodbye to resetting Treo's, locked screens and no volume. I LOVE the Berry!!!

I finally received my Curve and I just wanted to share my positive experience with you all. It's simple as pie to sync Act! 6.0 using only CompanionLink and Blackberry Desktop, skipping the more difficult sync with Outlook then Blackberry method. I had it all done in under 10 minutes and it was a pleasure. I personally took my Palm Treo 700 and smashed it into a million pieces on the street in front of my job to celebrate. CompanionLink has all the instructions on how to do this easily here:
So follow these instructions and join me in the fun of smashing all the bad Palm memories out of existance........

THANK GOD I FOUND THIS! I only wish I found it sooner. I've been jacking with this all night!
This program worked GREAT for ACT! 2008 V10 and my Blackberry Curve 8330! I recommend this for everyone with ACT!

I just found another piece of software that works great with versions 2007/2008/2009 of ACT!, namely 123 Synchronizer for ACT! and Outlook. You can download it from http://www.123-synchronizer.com. In my tests, this version is multiple times better and faster than any of their competitors.

Thank you so much. RIM should give you a commission, you just sold a BB Curve. I have spent the last two nights doing research to figure out what phone I needed and ACT! was the problem. Problem now solved.
I will start on this page with all of my BB questions from now on.
