Re: Blackberry Curve-8520 email problem

Obvious questions: Are you on an enterprise server? or did you get the phone used and the previous user was on an enterprise.

If it was the previous user that was on the enterprise, then the device probably also has IT policies which disable certain features (which might be blocking personal email accounts). To check for these: Go to Options (with the wrench) > Status, then on the key pad type in buyr that should bring up a line that says IT Policy: Enabled/Disabled.

If it is enabed, do a reset to factory to remove them.

If disabled, just delete all the desktop service books and register the host routing table.

Re: Blackberry Curve-8520 email problem

Ok, interesting. When you go to Options (with the wrench) > Advanced Options > Service Book, are there any listings that start with Desktop. If so, can you try deleting all of them?

Re: Blackberry Curve-8520 email problem

Huh, weird. Did you try the register on the wireless network step?

If so, do you have a BlackBerry data plan with your carrier?

Re: Blackberry Curve-8520 email problem

Well, you need a BlackBerry specific data plan in order to use the built in email on the BlackBerry

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Given what you describe, only O2 can resolve this. If they cannot, then only they have the power to escalate to BlackBerry for the additional help that they would require. As a user-to-user community, no one here has any access to "back end" or "behind the scenes" systems to look at and try to figure out why this is not working. So you need to work with O2, and insist that they escalate to BlackBerry if they cannot resolve it. Consider -- you pay O2 for 100% of your services, and that means they are 100% responsible for all of your service-related support...right now, they are delivering neither to you.

Good luck!
