Blackberry Curve 9220 Browser Won't Open

I've actually tried reading about this, but I really need help.

 

I'm using an unlocked BB, so I understand that services such as registering an e-mail address wouldn't be available to me unless I subscribe to a data plan. However, is a data plan required to open a browser? My browser does nothing when I click it. No error messages, it just ignores me. I really need to access the app world to download a new version of it since the version on my phone is apprently in need of an update. Help please! thanks! :smileyhappy:

Welcome to the support community!
A data plan from your mobile network provider that supports internet browsing is required to use the Browser on your BlackBerry Curve 9220 smartphone. If you have access to a PC, the following KB article should help you upgrade your BlackBerry World application using the computer. "How to install or update the BlackBerry App World application using a computer system" KB31325
