Blackberry Curve Deletion Issues

Email messages are deleted automatically from my blackberry curve and I cannot figure out to stop this from occuring.  It seems as if they are deleted on a daily basis.  Any thoughts?

Two questions: in mailbox -options- general options, what do you have your Keep Messages set for?

Are you losing SMS messages as well, and calendar dates sooner than expected?

Keep Messages is set "forever", and I am also losing SMS messages (but not calendar appointments).

Unfortunately, it is not a memory issue; I have only had the device for two weeks.  That said, I know that I had synch issues in the past (messages deleted in Outlook wouldn't delete from device and vice versa) and so I tried something on my own (see below) that I found in the blackberry solution center.  Wonder if this has had an effect?

 

Also, cannot figure out why I am not able to select the "Reconcile Messages" in Synchronize Now in the Desktop Manager (step 7 below)?

 

Cause 6

The folder and message databases are corrupt.

Resolution

Backup the BlackBerry device data. Then clear the folder and message databases and synchronize.

  1. On your computer, connect the BlackBerry device and open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
  2. Double-click Backup and Restore and click Advanced.
  3. In the Handheld Databases section on the right, select the following databases: Folders, Folder ID, Messages and Purged Messages. Hold the Ctrl key to select more than one at a time.
  4. Click Clear. In the warning dialog box, click OK.
  5. Close both Backup and Restore windows.
  6. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager and double-click eitherIntellisync for versions 4.1 and earlier, or Synchronize for versions 4.2 and later.
  7. EnsureReconcile Messages is selected and click Synchronize now.

Just to check could you send me the numbers in Options - status - file free and file total?

I do not see where the option you mentioned would lose messages, especially text messages.
