Blackberry Curve - No Signal/Service

I have a no signal/service on my phone and coverage is sporadic and has been for 36 hours.  I can drive 2 miles away and I may pick up the odd signal for a few moments, enough to pick up the odd text.

 

T - mobile have said there are 2 cells down in the area but this is questionable when 2 other people in my house have no issues with their service.

They believe there is a fault with the phone.  Maybe the aerial is damaged within the phone??

Any suggestions welcome please?

Hello CatherineS and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

 

Sorry to hear you are experiencing network coverage issues.

 

If you put your SIM into another device, does that device then experience the network issue? If you put their SIM in your device, do you get coverage? 

 

If your SIM doesn't provide coverage but another SIM does, your may need a replacement SIM  card.

 

If the new SIM doesn't provide coverage then you can test to see if this is issue is a device related issue by reinstalling your device software.

 

First off backup your device data.  Once you have backed up, follow the steps in KB11320 How to perform a clean reload of the BlackBerry Device Software for Windows (or KB19915 Perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software on a Mac computer).

Thank you for your advice.

I tried my sim in another phone and it was fine so i was told it was a phone fault.

The phone has since been sent for repair.
