Blackberry Curve Problems

I have had my BlackBerry for almost a year and half and all the sudden two weeks ago while I was driving out of town my phone just turned off.  It started making noises that it was getting a signal so I pulled it away from my year and it just turned off.  I tried to turn it back on and it would not do it so I took the battery out several times and it still kept turning off.  When it finally did turn out the battery was dead, that had been fully charged before this happened, and it said "Battery too low for radio use." Then when I kept driving after maybe ten minutes I tried it again and the battery was fully charged again.  Does anyone know what the problem is or how to solve it? And lately it has just been turning off at random times and the camera freezes the phone and I do not know what to do? Any suggestions...please help!

Re: Blackberry Curve Problems

Bergie,

I would say to start off trying the different chargers you own.  You may be using a defective charger....

If that doesn't show a noticible problem or difference, you may be having a charger connectivity problem.  I have owned an 8830 and 8330 curve and they both got a bit loose at the charging port.  This is due to the fact that we sometimes use it on the charger or it drops while plugged in to a CPU.... if there is not a secure connection and the battery is not sufficiently charged, then the phone will not allow for radio use when lower than 15% battery.  This is a normal function of the phone....

It may end up in replacment, but good luck, I hope that helped! :smileyhappy:

Re: Blackberry Curve Problems

Hi,

I am having an annoying problem with my phone. It keeps giving me the hour-glass sign everytime I try to go on it. I'm never loading anything at the time and plus it will last for 5 minutes. This doeasn't happen when I turn on my phone after turning it off, it happens out of no where when its alreadu on. I can't stand it, how do I stop it or fix it?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

A few things...

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Also, check to see if your carrier has released an updated OS for your BB...often, updates fix many past problems:

Best!

Re: Blackberry Curve Problems

I also have had a lot of trouble recently with my device, since it constantly reset itself deleting conversations, call log and messages. Sometimes it receives an instant message, but when I want to check it there's nothing on the message screen, and it will appear only after I had taken the battery from the phone and turned it on again. Yesterday was critical since it did this about 10 times. On top of this, I can't update the BB messenger software and have no idea why!!

I would really appreciate anybody's help!!!!!!

Thanks a lot

For this issue, you'll need to provide a bit more detail. As in, exactly what do you attempt and exactly what happens when you make the attempt?

Thanks!

Re: Blackberry Curve Problems

Ok well, my phone has been constantly resetting itself saying like AP error 200. That doesn't happen as often as it used to, but now my phone is ALWAYS doing this thing where it won't let me press any of the buttons on my phone. It's on because you can see the green light blinking, but it won't let me press any keys. I've tried plugging it into the charger and the screen will pop up, but it won't let me even attempt to type in my password. Also occasionally when I have this problem after I'm finally able to type in my password I'll be trying to text someone, but every time I hit certain keys including the space button the only 2 letters that pop up are tg... its really weird and incredibly annoying. Today both of these things lasted for at least 8 hours

Re: Blackberry Curve Problems

Look at these replies, on BB site:

no support

no specialists working out solutions

BB taking the profits and not sowing back in

where are the factory solutions?

asleep at the controls

mine freezes every time the zoom was on for pix

the focus in always on new products (r&d), no current support

the solution is always upgrade

Hi all

I just purchased a blackberry curve at future shop and  on the 16day I had a problem with it were the hourglass when you turn on the phone kept turning when I tried to turn on the phone. I took it back to future for a replacement they told me the warranty is 14 days only. I send it to rim since is under warranty they claim its moisture not water damage but the phone was never near water to cause moisture  damage to occur. Just wonder since is was so humid this summer that this might me the cause. Does anyone else have this problem.

Thanks
