It is shocking to see that Blackberry India still don’t have the plan to launch Maps in India. I guess it was 2009 when the discussion was triggered till date there is no progress made as blackberry customer base in India grew exponentially. I am sure this is not the way the “action starts”. Hoping to see a better Map solution from RIM.

Dude, I suggest speak with your Indian government regarding the regulations in place which are forbidding this. It's not a RIM problem.

Dear Resident expert, Rather than me reaching out to the govt, I strongly recommend that you see how was followed by Nokia and other android application builders to get the required mapping application clearance. I suggest you follow the alternative route and reach out to the tech guru’s from popular new challenges to make this issue public. Thanks for the prompt revert! Appreciate it! Cheers, Chetan
