Blackberry Messenger Help

My Curve came with an older version of messenger. I went to the AppWorld and downloaded version 5.0.0 and installed. It did not change the version. I deleted Messenger from my app list and went to re-download and AppWorld will not let me download it again a if it see's version 5.0.0 installed already. Any help?

Re: Blackberry Messenger Help

Hi and welcome to the forums! :smileyhappy:

A couple of places for you to visit:     Blackberry 101    Tips & Tricks

Did you remove the original version of messenger before you tried downloading BBM5.0 from AppWorld?

Usually it is also a good idea to do a battery pull when you install/remove apps.   Pull the battery out with the device ON. Wait about a minute and put the battery back in. Let the BB completely restart and see if that doesn't help. Clears out the memory and refreshes the BB; like rebooting your pc.

When you have anomalous behavior in your BB a battery pull often helps to clear it up too.

Try removing BBM from your device and do a battery pull.  There may have been bits of the prior BBM installation conflicting the new download.  Then try the download again.

Happy to have you here! :smileyvery-happy:
