Hi, I have just transferred everything from my 8310 over to my 8900, and now it seems my BBM is not allowing me to change my screen name, any suggestions?

Why do you need to change your screen name via Blackberry Desktop Manager ?

Did you try to do it on the device into the Blackberry Messenger application ?

Start Blackberry Messenger.

Open menu and select "Edit My info"

I meant to say in BBM. The problem is when I go into BBM and click on edit my info, it doesn't let me go in and change it.  I should have been more clearer. x

Ah, sorry. That acronym often used for Blackberry Desktop Manager

When you said "transferred" did you mean that you did backup on old device

and restore saved data on to new device.

Am I right ?

My bad, everyone I knows calls the messenger BBM.

Yes, I synced the Javelin and restored data from the Desktop Manager to it. Since then it will not allow me to edit my info. 

any advice?

Backup all your device info with Blackberry Desktop Manager.

After that - wipe your device memory.

Go to Options - Security Options - General Settings.

Open menu and select "Wipe handheld"

After that setup your Blackberry Messenger App.

After that restore your backup info carefully (via "Advanced" option in Blackberry Desktop Manager Backup/Restore app).
