Hi , Im Peter and i have a problem with my phone. I have paid for my internet and BBM and all other blackberry APS are working fine its just my  internet isent working which is stopping me from downloading music etc. I took my phone to the vodafone phone shop to see if the could fix it and they told me to go to blackberry. please reply.

Hi Peter.

They shouldn't have told you that, you bought the unit from them and it's their responsibility to make sure you are happy since it's them you gave your money too.

I suggest you call them up and ask to be escalated to a BlackBerry specialist!

i have bin down to see them about 5 times and they said its down to Blackberry to put there device on your phone. So do you have any idea how i can get internet and my connection hasent changed from EDGE since i bought the phone i have had the phone for about 4 months and my bbm hasent went off.

Hi Peter

From my own service provider, it is they who has to activate BlackBerry services on your phone, not BlackBerry directly.

Only they can talk to BlackBerry!

Did they say it's active already? There may be some settings that you need to do, like the APN settings, but it's dependent on your provider (they give you this for you to configure).

Can you direct me how to get on APN setting on my phone

Silly me I should have provided that earlier.

Try going to options, advanced options and select on TCP/IP. You should see the APN settings there.

But again this info should come from Vodafone!!

No i cant find that but i can see TLS, VPN and WTLS cant find APN do you know what folder it might be in

That's strange!

However, if you are really positive that you have a data plan that should provide you browser access, then you can try these alternative steps:

1) Register Host Routing Table
Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > BBKey (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now

2) Resend Service Books:
http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service

If still after those steps you are unable to get access, then contact them to find out why they are not delivering to you the services for which you are paying. You mentioned you've talked to them a few times already, well if their service is that bad, I'd suggest looking into other carriers maybe?
