Blackberry Siezing with certain functions

Hello, this may have already been covered in the forum, I have had a look but have not discovered it, so please fogive if i am repeating.

My blackberry has seized at the moment with facebook notificiations - it says I have 2 messages (on the notifications bar) but they are the same ones from last week.  Also, since this has happened, no new facebook notices are getting through to me.  I have tried to switch it off and on several times and this has not fixed the problem.

Another thing, is whenever I open an email, I have the same email from January, but at least with the emails, if i scroll down to the big envelope, (instead of in the notifications bar) I do get to see new emails there.

Is this a faulty phone?  I only bought it in January - or is this a common thing with Blackberry?

Thank you,

Re: Blackberry Siezing with certain functions

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Best!
