Hi Everyone,
I have a blackberry 8330 with Telus mobility. (less then 1 1/2 months old)
The phone itself keeps on disconnecting and reconnects like crazy when plugged in to my computer even during sync.
I tried it on different USB ports on my computer and the problem still occurs.
When I plug regular usb sticks, they don't disconnect like the blackberry. My palm never had this problem.
What can I do???
Also whenever I watch videos, sometimes the device restarts itself. Please help.
Thanks

Sounds like the device has an issue with the USB port on the side.
If you plug it into a wall charger does it show that it's connected?

When I charge it with the wall plug, it doesn't seem to have any problems.

Hi. I am having the same issue with the USB rapidly disconnecting and reconnecting. It's happening on two different computers - work pc (2 months old) and home. It happens whether I'm running Desktop Manager or not - Device Manager or not. I can watch the 'Device Connected (PIN):' populate and then say 'None' and back and forth. It's preventing my BB from syncing, I believe.
I've tried multiple USB ports with the same effect. Run all the updates. Tried updating drivers. Ran Windows Update, etc. etc. etc.
I'm hearing the connect/disconnect chimes in my sleep.....
BTW, I'm using a 5-day old BB Curve 8320 (tmobile) if that makes any difference.
Any help?

One more note: My BB finished charging by the USB and it has stopped disconnecting and reconnecting....
weird, but doesn't explain to me what the problem is....

Hey all,
I have the same problem with mine. I went to change the OS and it disconnected and made a mess of everything. I figured that out, but it still disconnects and reconnects. It has done this enough to burn out my battery. I purchased the blackberry used, and it came with a burnt out battery, so that should have been my first clue. My question is; has anyone tried to use the docking staion instead of the plug in? I wonder if this will solve the problem with the connector? Anyway, i'm going to go pick one up tonight when i buy a new battery, and i'll let ya'all know.
Peace.

Regarding my problem with my Blackberry disconnecting and reconnecting repeatedly when using the USB cable... I bought a new cable and it works perfectly. I got a usb cable with 'ferrites,' which I didn't know I was getting. It looks like this http://www.cables4computer.com/USB_and_FireWire/US
I use it primarily at work and it has NEVER given me the problem the 'plain' cable gives me at home. That cable is basically useless with my Blackberry. I'm not smart enough to know why the new cable works. I just know it works.
I hope this helps.

the big bulb close to one end of that cable you bought is a resister, it lowers the power being transferred through
have any of you gone on your PC to device manager (right click on my computer, select properties, click hardware tab, click device manager button)
then click on + sign beside universal serial bus controllers, open each USB ROOT HUB, go to power management tab
uncheck "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and click OK
make sure you do this to "ALL" USB ROOT HUBS

I just tried the instructions for turning off Power Management to all the USB root hubs. Rebooted, connected the Blackberry with the usb cable and it's still connecting and disconnecting like crazy.
Thanks for the suggestion, tho!
