Blackberry virus!

Dear User,

Today I got from the blackberrychat a file called "BlackBerry Greetings.amr" I wanted to play it so I did it. After that it came a white screen. My blackberry started to reboot. After 40-45 seconds it started. So I went to the bb chat, and my friend said that this was only a "Shut Down" Virus.. I dont trust him, could you tell me if the virus is only a shut down virus?

I have it here:  rapid share.com/files/276854859/BlackBerry_Greetings.amr.html

Thank you for your answers.

Re: Blackberry virus!

Till date no report on virus attack to any BlackBerry device. I would recommend you not to try any suspected scripts in your device to be save with your device.

Re: Blackberry virus!

Thank you tanzim!

Does it mean it was only a "Shut Down" script?

Deleted it from my device anyway.

Re: Blackberry virus!

Did you see the messages "Installing..." if not then there is no issue. Stay away from such scripts.

Re: Blackberry virus!

No there was no "Installing" or something. I just wanted to play the .amr file. Then it shot down. But it bootet pretty long. Longer than usual..

Re: Blackberry virus!

Then no worries...it's just a script that restarts device. Not a virus!!
