Brand New 8330 Verizon - having issues

[ Edited ]

I have spent a good 2 hours on here and I can't find any solutions to my issues with my new blackberry.

A.  I want to filter out my sent gmail messages so they do not get sent right back to my BB but the BIS for Verizon says my device has already be registered.  However, when I click the forgot password and it sends a message to my BB it tells me that no user name or password exist for this device!  How can it be registered but have no user name or password?  It is brand new, less then 2 weeks!

B.  Some emails I get are from automated places like espn and they come through at all hours of the night.  Is there some way to turn off email notification during certain hours?  I have to leave the phone on but I don't want some spam email waking the entire house at 4 in the morning.

C.  Is there some way around the 160 character limit on SMS messages?  Some of my employees phones don't read the MMS messages but I need to send bigger messages?  Email is not an option.

D.  When I receive calls, the first 1-2 secs are on speaker phone and is highly annoying.  Any way to stop this?

a.  I would call verizon and get that resolved, If your not able to log into your BIS to make changes your not going to be able to do anything.

b. I would turn your profile to phone only

c. no, you would have to send multiple messages.

d. Can you explain this more, this is news to me.

A.  Ok, I will call verizon.

B.  Will do

C.  My old phone (Samsung dual flip) allowed me 7x 160 in 1 text.  Kind of annoying.  What if I use the teleflip method???

D.  See this link

and this link

SMS does not allow more then 160 in one text, your old phone was sending multiple text messages. That is interasting i haven't come across that issue thought with the speaker phone.

My wife got the same phone the same day I did and hers does not do it, but all settings are the same on them!  Talk about frustrating.

Re: Brand New 8330 Verizon - having issues

Found one post where resetting the device fixed ths issue. Have you tried that already?

Also after taking to Verizon about logging into the BIS site, here are the steps to create a filter to stop receiving duplicate messages.
