Buttons Don't Respond

All of the sudden I can't get any buttons to respond, not evern the power button. Removing the battery and resetting the phone this way has not helped. The phone worked one minute and then 45 minutes later it wouldn't respond. Emails and phone calls register coming into the device but I can't respond to them. Any idea what happened or how it can be rseolved.

Re: Buttons Don't Respond

Welcome to the forums TCTrinity09 :smileyhappy:

Some people have reported moisture damage to the phone (even if you haven't dropped it in water!). Pull out the battery and check if any of the water damage indicators have turned completely pink. I'm not sure if you are under warranty or not, but try to see if your carrier will do an exchange for you. If not, try drying out the phone for a few days in a cool, dry place e.g. in front of an air conditioner. Remove the battery when doing this.

Re: Buttons Don't Respond

I have a red strip across the end of my battery, is this what you mean by water indicator and is a red stripe an indication of water damage?

Re: Buttons Don't Respond

The red stripe is normal, but have the white parts around it turned pink? There are also other white indicators in the battery comprtment. Check those as well.

Re: Buttons Don't Respond

You are looking for a small 1/8" white square sticker on the housing of the BlackBerry device itself.

Read this link,. and pay special attention to the need for the battery out NOW, and giving it 4-5 days to dry out.

Re: Buttons Don't Respond

Thank you for your assistance but I went to a Verizon store and they confirmed it wasn't water damage so not sure what the problem is, I'm getting the phone replaced.

Thank you.
