Hey all,
I have had issues with my GPS working on the Curve from Telus and I managed to find a guide that helps fix this. I thought it could be useful for many people since I have read a lot of complaints about this over here and on other forums. Basically the guide allows you to get into your phone's service programming menu and put in the gps server from your provider. This enables the phone to get a fix in a matter of seconds as opposed to minutes and minutes of waiting. Please use this method only if you are comfortable with the steps outlined. Messing with service programming of the phone can lead to it becoming a paper weight. The guide is really good and I have used it on my phone and my brother's phone so it does work. It will work with the following providers: Telus, Bell, Alltel (and US Cellular), Metro PCS, Sprint, and Verizon.
Note that you will have to search for the software. I tried to attach the files, but I believe some are too big for this forum.
WinHex can be found here: WinHex
I hope this can be of use to some of you.
DISCLAIMER: I accept no responsibilty if you mess up your phone using this guide. It is not made by me, I am just passing along the information.
Credit for the guide goes to HouseApe who posted the guide over here: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gps-mapping/185699
