Re: Camera Sound

Either set your Profile to silent or vibrate, or download one of the many free apps in AppWorld which mutes the camera.

Search AppWorld for Camera Mute or Shutter Mute

Re: Camera Sound

The above answer is incorrect, you cant turn it off its a feature to stop people taking "secret" pictures of people, yes there are apps on app world which will "mute" the sound but thats the only way

Please use plain text.

I don't see your point.

Re: Camera Sound

Sit in a quiet room and try it, its linked in the hardware so cant be disabled only muted to minimal levels via software which gives the appreance to being "off" if it were any other way the devices couldnt be sold in certain countries. any simple google search will explain this to you.

My point is simply turning your phone to vibrate or silent wont solve the issue as you advised the op.

My advice is factual and to the point, its not meant to offend only point the op to the correct solution.

Please use plain text.

You're on a 9780 model, what OS release?

On either OS 4.5 or 5., placing the device on silent or vibrate would indeed mute the camera shutter. I know, I did it many times without an app. And then it changed again.

Anyway, doesn't matter, the apps will do it. And too, no offense, but there are many iterations and releases of OSs with RIM, that some do things others won't do.
