Camera will not start 8900

I get this message: "Could not start the camera. Close other applications and try opening the camera again."

Why is this happening?

Rogers

v5.0.0.09

Re: Camera will not start 8900

Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.

That answer did not help and I feel it was generic.

And works, probably about 90% of the time. Actually, I haven't measured this precisely, perhaps it's 98% of the time.

So, without more information from you, your resolution boils down to the remaining 2-10% of possible answers.

What is your Operating System loaded to your device? Look at Options > > Device > About, third line down beginning with a "v.5.0.x.xxx", What is yours?

Is your device on a corporate BES that might have an IT Policy Restricting the camera?

What is the File Free on your device?

And, finally, did you read this other generic post at the very very top of this Curve forum section?

Re: Camera will not start 8900

I wrote that in my first post:

Bundle 1626,

Rogers

v5.0.0.900

No, it's not on BES.

Platform 1626

Kernel v3.8.5.85

Application Memory Free Space: 83.5MB

The other interesting thing it says is: "Media card is not available because Mass Storage Mode is currently in use.

Thanks for pointing me to the earlier post. This is my first time using this forum.
