Hello, my hubby and I are new BB users and are loving it - however we have not been able to figure out how to synch both on one laptop.  Would like to be able to do that mainly to jive personal calendar items that both of us need to have. 

I am coming from a Palm and am used to the Palm Desktop software which was really simple.  It's my understanding that BB does not provide a desktop software and I need to install Outlook?

I was using the Palm Desktop software.  My OS is Vista.  I have purchased (but not opened/installed) Outlook and if it's possible to have the 2 BB's synch on 1 computer, then I think Outlook would be useful for its shared scheduling and I'd be willing to keep it.

Do you want a shared calender between you husband and your self, or do you both need seperate, calendar, tasks , memos, address books?

We would like our own separate calendars, but to be able to assign some things to both of us.

Hi,

I would first create 2 users for the computer one for each. Install Outlook for both users. Each will have their own calendars, contacts etc. Then you can switch users and sync from your own calendars. Coordinating events can either be manually entered, or you can send invites.

As Bifocals stated, I would use separate user accounts on your pc.  The desktop manager works with the specific PIN number of each device.  That way you should be able to connect 2 different BB devices on the same computer.

Do I need to reinstall the Blackberry Desktop Manager for the 2nd user?

No just make sure you both have rights to it. Most importantly!! You will have to keep the backups separate! I would keep each in a separate directory.

I am also trying to figure out how to sync two bb to one computer but need to keep contacts and calendars seperate.  What do you mean two users?
