Can Curve 9330 be tethered to Kindle Fire

I have a Curve 9330 that I use as a modem for my PC via a USB tether. I have a unlimited data plan through Verizon. My phone status indicates the WiFi is on but I do not have a WiFi account set up. If I need to would this be extra $$ with Verizon.  Can I tether my Kindle Fire to the 9330 as I am not in a location that the Kindle detects an open hotspot. Would tethering make the 9330 act as a hotspot/router?

Re: Can Curve 9330 be tethered to Kindle Fire

Hi there,

The 9330 does not have mobile hotspot capabilities, so no, you cannot setup the 9330 as a hotspot/router. The wifi setting is so that you can connect to a wifi network on your phone (helps to save data).

In terms of cost, be aware that unless Verizon allows you to tether on your plan, you can end up being charged for that data you use. Usually things like unlimited data only pertain to the phone.
