Same problem with slight differences.....So I decided to update.....

I have a BB Bold 8900

My message had a different number - 228 instead of 216

Uncaught exception: Application net_rim_bb_addressbook_app (228) is not responding; process terminated.

I also updated Messenger Live yesterday.   Deleted as advised above and all works again.

I have the same issue after an update on couple of thired party apps today! tried rebooting and what not, still the same.

haev you updated any third party app recently...if yes, delete that and then reboot your phone. 

I had updated the Yahoo Messanger and faced the same problem. I have deleted it and its working fine.

got rid of all messenger apps apart from blackberry messenger - still can't add contacts from text message menu.  Wish I had an iPhone

Can you add Live Messenger again? I kind of rely on it because it's convenient to have on the phone....

I tried doing the solution but nothing happened. Don't know what to do anymore. I have so much contacts to save right now....urgh

Delete MSN dint work, deleted Yahoo started working.
