Re: Cannot Download Apps: device offline state???

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Best!

Re: Cannot Download Apps: device offline state???

Thank you for the reply but taking out the battery didn't work. Is there any other settings that I could change to make the device "online"? Whenever I try to download apps from the App World or try to use any fucntions of App World, I keep on getting the same message that the device is offline. Do you have any other solutions? ANy help will be much appreciated.

Re: Cannot Download Apps: device offline state???

The specific error you cite is not yet published in the public KBs:

Perhaps your search will reveal better results than mine. However, some clarifications are needed before I attempt to provide you any further guidance.

  1. Is this error achieved when you use, via USB/tether, the PC/browser version of AppWorld?
  2. Or is this error achieved via the on-device AppWorld interface?

Thanks and let us know!
