Charging and Texting issues

Hi. I bought a Blackberry Curve 9360, about 8 months back. It has suddenly started giving me problems. The most important being the charging issue. Whenever I put my device on charge, it initially shows me the charging the sign(the little lightening symbol), however after a while, it stops charging and it starts to flash the plug sign, signifying that charging has been done. Hence, without charging it starts to show the plug sign and after a few moments my device shuts down since the battery is completely drained.

I've contacted the support centre and twice they've failed to resolve my problem. The first time, they deleted all my data and re-installed the software. The second time, they upgraded my software.

The texting problem however, I faced when my device came back from the support centre for the first time. When ever I text message a contact, my message is sent to the contact, however, in my conversation the message does not appear. So, whenever you open the chat of that particular contact it just shows all the text messages that were sent to me, not those which were sent by me.

Please I request you all to take a moment and help me out. Thank you so much!

Please use plain text.

Re: Charging and Texting issues

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Regarding your charging issue...

Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB):

  1. With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
  2. Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
  3. Remove the battery
  4. Wait 15 minutes
  5. Insert the battery
  6. Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does

This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.

It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:

  1. Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
  2. Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens

The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem.

Regarding your SMS problem, please contact your mobile service provider for formal support as that is a voice-level function, not a BB-data level function.

Good luck and let us know!
